I come from a mixed race family and speak English and Japanese.
I do not practice faith/religion in my work and do not reject any faith/religion.
I am committed to providing affirmative therapy with all clients.
I am casual, friendly, and like to give feedback in a clear manner.
I want to provide you a comforting place to work on yourself.
My main modalities include talk therapy through Narrative Therapy and Bowenian Therapy. What this means is that you write your own story while we work together in finding how your past experiences affect you now. I also implement Brainspotting and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy.
You have every right to feel how you feel.
No one can tell you how you feel is wrong.
My goal is to support you in unraveling confusing and contradicting thoughts that may exist so that you can have empathy for yourself and make decisions for your happiness.
I graduated from Argosy University at Denver with a Masters of Arts degree in Marriage and Family Therapy. I am currently licensed through the Department of Regulatory Agencies (DORA) in Colorado as a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist and as a Licensed Addiction Counselor.
I worked at a residential treatment center for adolescents while attending my Masters program as a Mental Health Counselor, where I worked with adolescents who were neglected, abused, and or had been convicted of criminal charges. I also completed an internship program under an AAMFT approved supervisor, learning how to provide treatment for adolescents who were convicted of sexual offenses. After the internship was over, I was hired on as a contractor with the following specifications: an Associate SOMB Approved Treatment Provider; to provide family reunification supervision; evaluations; and treatment specifically designed for creating healthy boundaries. I no longer hold the title as an Associate SOMB Approved Treatment Provider.
After graduating with my Masters of Marriage and Family Therapy, I left the residential treatment center and was hired as an apprentice at an agency that provided treatment for adults who were convicted of criminal charges. I was hired on as a full time staff member after completing the apprenticeship and provided group therapy, individual therapy, and family therapy with the title of Therapist and Trainer, and an Entry Level DVOMB Approved Treatment Provider. I no longer hold the title as an Entry Level DVOMB Approved Treatment Provider.
